Stand Firm by the Right Religion

Be ever firm and strong in keeping the Precepts and the Rites; give alms and always practise fasting, worship, praise and recitation. Sing and chant the words of the Righteous Law without break or stop, read and study eagerly, discriminate with your wisdom and accept the Pure Commands. Always keep before you the Three Pillars of the Holy Faith: Scripture, Tradition and Revelation. Always be clean and pure in the deeds of the body, mouth and mind. Always be found earnestly practising kindly deeds, be gentle and amiable, bear humiliations, and purify all your roots. Follow good rules and habits and determine to rest your minds in the Place of Liberation; leap with joy and stand firm by the Religion of Righteousness!” — Gospel of Mar Mani 54:7-12

Our Divine Teacher tells us that we should “be ever firm and strong in keeping the Precepts (Commandments) and the Rites.” We are reminded of our responsibility to “give alms and practice fasting, worship, praise and recitation.” The Holy Prophet Mar Mani tells us that we should always be singing and chanting “the words of the Righteous Law without break or stop.” He encourages us to “read and study eagerly.” Adherents of the Religion of Light are known for their studious habits.

Our Holy Prophet gives us further instructions that we should “always be clean and pure in the deeds of the body, mouth and mind”, always doing good deeds, being “gentle and amiable”, bearing humiliations and walking in purity.

Mar Mani says, “Follow good rules and habits and determine to rest your minds in the Place of Liberation; leap with joy and stand firm by the Right Religion!”
